Pards,

I think we can agree, that '09 was not the best year we've had as re-enactors I'm SURE that with all of pulling together, '10 will be much better.

The low point of the last year, in my opinion, was the cancellation of Spotsylvania, we have taken many large steps to prevent this from happening again.

Not to say that '09 was a total washout.

I think we can say that despite the weather, Cedar Creek was an excellent weekend. We (the USV), received numerous accolades for our stubborn defense on Saturday, (when it seemed as if every reb west of Richmond was bearing down on us. Our Parade on Sunday morning, also received compliments a plenty.

On a personal note, I got to know several more of you this summer and fall, at some other events, and, please feel that you are welcome to "drop in under the fly" at any time. I look forward to getting to know even more of you better in the upcoming campaigns.

I have just returned from the "Civil War Leadership Conference" in Chickamauga, Georgia. It was a meeting of the leaders of re-enacting organizations from around the country, to plan, and work together on the upcoming 150ths.

I will speak at length on what is in store in this department, at our meeting in January, then more will be posted after the meeting.

There are several very exciting and innovative events on the horizon.

For those of you I don't see, or speak to at our meeting, I look forward to seeing you all at Bentonville, to start our year on a roll.

(It is always great to start the year with a Victory!)

"Close up, and press on!!!"
